diy felt and ornament wreaths.

I am sooo excited for this holiday season. Everyone is so festive and cheery. Christmas spirit IS a real thing and I love seeing everyone becoming infected by it. I am definitely infected, for sure, but my house was lacking. A quick trip to pinterest for some DIY Christmas inspiration made me realize a fast and easy craft that is sure to get your home perfectly festive.
I couldn't choose which wreath to do so I did two. A white felt one for the inside and a ornament one for the outside. How do you think they turned out?
I have listed links to both the tutorials I used below.
Have fun! Oh and make sure if you make one to show me on Instagram!
Tag me @angiebrian on your photo, I would LOVE to see!

Her cuteness was screaming "take my picture, take my picture."

I can't help feeling super grateful today. I feel so patriotic, happy, and full of life. I would like to say this is my natural constant demeanor, but we all know that would be a lie. No, I am crediting this sudden burst of hippie life lovin to the book Unbroken. If you haven't read it, please do. Or better yet be like my husband and I and listen to it. It is amaaaaaaaaaaazing.
On a different note, today was total and complete bliss. I spent the early morning snuggled on the couch with the babe, listening to her sing along with Blues Clues. My husband was spending the day with an old friend from Alaska and I was free to do what I wanted. I don't know if you can tell, but I love it when my husband is out with friends.... love it! Since Brynn and I were on no ones schedule, we decided to make a trip to Target. There we shopped a bit, walked isles a lot a bit, and oooo'ed and ahhh'ed over the new pillows and decor a whole lot a bit.
Then, the best part of my day happened.
Brynn stole my heart...again.
Upon leaving she decided to turn on the charm and kept running to different walls, steps, and curbs. Her cuteness was screaming "take my picture, take my picture." I was happy to oblige.
Thanks to this girl and her outstanding love for being outside we left target with photos that will melt my heart for years to come.
I sure love you Brynn, your spunky personality and love for the out doors are just two of the many reasons I absolutely adore you. - Your Mom.

Sharpie Mugs

Miss Brynn, my husband, and myself are moving to North Dakota.
I am extremely nervous and thought the only way to keep my sanity this winter was to open GS again. So here I am. With a new look, I am fired up and ready to blog. Hmmm. Now I just need to find some fun projects and inspiring crafts. Excited to get back to this blogs DIY roots.

Here is an easy project.

Using a SHARPIE doodle your little heart out onto a mug. I found some awesome Target mugs at Good Will for 50 cent a piece. Once your artistic creation is complete BAKE at *350 for 30 minutes. Your mugs will thank you.

I appologize for the late giveaway drawing.
This little peanut got tonsilitis... again.
So for the past couple of days the last thing that was on my mind was my blog.

CONGRATS on winning the greaest scrapbooking software ever!
It really is alot of fun..

For those who didn't win, you can always you my coupon code to get 10 dollars off.

My Memories review and GIVE AWAY!!!

I have been waiting for so long to use this sponsor love button...
and now I can.

I was recently contacted by My Memories.
They are a scrap booking company that has perfected computer scapbooking.
They have a product called My Memories Suite III and asked if I would use and review it.
First things first I was not a scrapbooking person, nor did I ever think I would become one....
but that is exactly what this software did, it hooked me.
When I first downloaded the software on my computer it was a lot to take on.
A completely new product can be very intimidating...

That is what I thought, then I went to their site and watched TWO,
yes only two, tutorial videos and just like that I knew everything I needed.
(videos are about 8 minutes each, super easy to understand)

Right after the tutorials I dove right in and messed around a bit.
The user interface is soooooooooooo easy and making a page is a sinch.

This was the first page I made.

Once you buy and download the software you will find an OOODLE of supplies already built in.
You got your background papers, your stamps, your stickers, your die cuts.
Pretty much anything you would see in a craft store in the scrap book isle, yep its there.
I don't know how they did it, but they figured a way to make scrap booking that much easier.

So get this, usually you would go to the store. You might have a certain page you are working on and need to stock up on supplies. You get paper, stickers, other embellishments. You also need to buy scrap booking tape and ribbon.... oh and don't forget the markers.
All of these things are on a use once basis.
You use a sticker on a page and its gone.
So just in supplies alone you are already out maybe twenty bucks.
This is what is soooo great about MY MEMORIES everything you download stays with the program
Use a certain embellishment as many times as you want, it will never run out.
But say you like the shopping part of scrap booking, the hunt for the perfect touch to your page.
Never fear, My Memories has got you covered.
On their site they provide you with scrapbook shopping wonderment!
They have a free page where you can download as many items as you want completely free.
They have a 1.00 store, which I love, there are soooo many fun layouts and templates for sooo cheap.

When you enter in the software you are asked if you would like to start from scratch and create something completely original, or if you would like to use one of their designer templates.
What is great about their designer templates (which can be like 15 pages) is they are so easy to manipulate. You can add or take away anything from the layout. This is awesome because if you like how the designer made it, all you need to do is click and add your pictures, presto your done. Or you can add your photo and add your own extra embellishments to customize it. Any embellishment from any page can be used....

When you download from the website you have a choice to put it directly into the software, or you can download it into your computer.
I personally just download it directly into my computer.
This is great because it makes any background paper, embellishment, banner, ect... into an easy to you jpeg or png file. That way not only can a make my scrap book awesome, but I can also use these fun prints and things to make my blog awesome.

Especially those of you that use your blog as a scrap book! YAY.

Brynlee turns one!

April 21st was a big day in our household. Our little Brynlee McKinley turned one!
It is amazing how fast a year can go by and how much a child can GROW.
Her birthday was on Saturday, but today marks 1 YEAR since we took her home from the hospital!
It has been one year since I officially became a stay at home MOM.
Like most moms, staying home has been rewarding and fun.
BUT it has also been the hardest job I have ever taken on.

photo of bryn the day we took her home... ONE YEAR AGO!
My husand and I have been very lucky to have such a good baby.
Brynlee is a FANTASTIC child and we are so happy to have her.

fun way to suprise the hubs.

My husband works two weeks on then two weeks off.
He usually calls me from work and says, "Lets go on a trip when I get home."
So I made sure in the two weeks of him being home we would make it happen.
(this is actually a fun way to earn brownie points with the hubs)
I decided we would go to Vegas. Our friends were flying into sin city from Hawaii and I tought it would be fun to meet them there. Let's face it trips are always soo much more fun with friends.
I decided to make the trip a suprise. Completely spontanious, which he loves.
The best part is how I told him.
First I booked the hotel, I made sure it was the same one our friends were staying at. Then I packed EVERYTHING (for all three of us). Last I grabbed an old onesie and wrote our destination on it!
Cory came home to find the suit cases by the door. Before he could ask what was going on Bryn came running around the corner wearing this onesie.... instantly it all made sense!

This little chunk had her FIRST birthday yesterday!
Birthday post coming soon!

friday phone unload.

i have seen people devote a post just to "unload" all the pics they have been hoarding on their phone.
oh man have i am a picture hoarder.
they should have twelve step programs for these kinds of things.
i think dumping all my photos will be great!
it also is a fun way for me watch my peanut grow throughout the weeks.
don't worry i would never think to post them all, you would die from old age before you finished looking at them all. just posting the ones i like.
my little bryn is almost one people!
this time last year i was miserable.
oh gosh.
just remembering the bathroom breaks in the middle of night makes me one grateful girl.

finally, a sunny day!

The sun is here, the sun is here! I am so excited, I can't barely pull myself together! For two years I lived in a cold dark place, an Alaskan tundra. There I froze, today the weather in Bethel is a whopping 14 degrees. (and that is good weather for april). I am so happy and so grateful to be out of Alaska and back in Utah. Winter in Utah is NOTHING compared to the -50* winter in Bethel. So to celebrate such a sunny, warm, cloudless day bryn and I went for a little nature walk. There is a cute little farm behind us and their sheep just had babies!!! Is there anything more cute in this world then a baby anything? I totally forgot to snap pics of the adorable new sheep babies, to busy trying to get a good shot of bryn. This girl sure is a go getter! But I wouldn't have it any other way!

I had just taken a giant stick out of her hands, check out the look she gave me!

Oh to have the mind of a child, she can find wonder in anything!
Even a little crack in the side walk!

Like I said she is a go getter! If this girl wants something nothing can stop her.
Serioiusly just like her father, probably one of my absolute favorite things about her!
This girl has got drive!

I loved this sunny day!
Bryn you are one fun girl to explore with!
Love, Mom.

birthday in a box.

my husband works out of state two weeks out of each month.
i am glad that he has a good job, but the time can be hard.
friday, april 6th, was his 27th birthday.
the poor guy had to be all the way in North Dakota celebrating alone.
so i thought a BIRTHDAY IN A BOX care package would be perfect for him!

i recently came across this awesome idea to send a loved one a big box of balloons.
they are super light and very cheap to ship!
with the idea in mind i got to work.
went to target and picked up a 5 dollar birthday decoration bundle.
bought some extra balloons to add color.
went to the nearest bakery and picked up some yummy treats.
(cookies and brownies ship best. make sure to wrap it tight in plastic wrap)
on the balloons i wrote little messages like,
"i can't believe your 27."
"i love the birthday boy."
"don't worry 27 isn't too old."

then i filled the box full of all the goodies!

then onto the fun part!
i thought the inside of the box was so fun the outside needed some spunk too.
bing an idea popped into my head... colored duck tape!
i got silver and white.
they sell colored duck tape at walmart for about 3.50 a pop.
it makes all the difference!
